Y'all, I know you're supposed to "eat to live," but I've got to speak my truth. I totally live to eat. I love good food. I love cooking a delicious meal, I'm such a fan of going out to eat at new restaurants, and it makes my heart so happy to cook something that my family can't get enough of. It's one of the reasons I'm so excited to be sharing this weekly Wednesday series with recipes that we've signed off on. I'm the pickiest eater in our family (even my toddler puts hot sauce on everything I make), so if I'm a fan, it's got to good. So, let's do this. I've got 2 recipes for you - real things I've eaten recently that I'm sure you'll love too!

Whenever I start a new workout program, no matter how consistently I've been committed to my fitness, I always end up walking like a) a penguin or b) a baby deer. Sitting down to pee hurts. Getting out of bed hurts. Let's be honest, existing hurts. Having solutions for sore muscles? It's pretty much a necessity to survive #momlife.
Fun fact: I went to school to get an English lit degree because I love reading more than pretty much any other activity. At any point in my life, I am reading 3 books while also listening to 2 others on Audible. Young adult fiction? Sign me up. Personal development books? Yes please. Do I have 36 books on hold at our local library? Why, yes. Yes, I do.
Ok, where am I going with this? Where I'm going is... a virtual book club/reading party. Over the coming weeks, I will be reading (ok, listening to) the book Hands Free Life by Rachel Macy Stafford and I thought I'd invite you to read it with me. Let's be honest, y'all. I am not a food blogger. I don't have the patience to take pictures of every step of a recipe. I don't want to write out long stories about the things I cook (and, honestly, I hate having to scroll through blog posts to get to the actual recipe). So, I wanted to share some of the things I love to make in a way that made sense for me.
With that, I've settled on a Wednesday Weekly Recipe Round-up - every Wednesday, I will be sharing 3-5 recipes that I've made in the past week that we have loved. A simple pictures snapped on my phone and healthy, wholesome food to make you feel good... It's here. Summer is almost over, so end it strong with The Big Sweat... and the chance to win $818 dollars on August 18, 2018!
Burnt out. Exhausted. Ready for a beach vacation or a break-down or, maybe, both. Look, mama, I've been there. I get it. I've done the 1am googling of "is it normal for my newborn to ______." I've struggled through some days with only YouTube Kids as my sanity-saver, so I could sit in the bathroom for 5 minutes in silence. I've watched the clock and wished the day away ... and then beat myself up for it.
So, if you're at the end of your rope and feeling the need for some inspiration, I want to share with you some of the books I've loved to lift my spirits, challenge my mindset, and offer hope on the hardest mama days. Hit up your local library or consider downloading and listening from Audible (then, you can listen while you drive, do laundry, or try not to lose your shit). The other day, I asked on Instagram (I'm obsessed with IG stories), "What would you like to see on the blog?" I got some great feedback and, to be honest, I am pretty excited to write some posts this month. Up first? On-the-go meals that don't break the bank! I'm talking perfect for working moms, those back-to-school lunches, parents who feel like they're running a taxi service out of their car, university students with crazy schedules, and anyone else who has to take lunch and snacks to go. Are you thinking what I'm thinking, friends? Let's round up these recipes, shall we?!
As we're approaching our 2nd wedding anniversary, I was going through our album and thinking about the small details of the day that I loved the most. Um, hello perfect blog post. I get to share some of our gorgeous photos from Anna Michalska, talk about one of the best day of my life, and hopefully inspire another bride to include some of these elements into her special day.
Toddlers, man.
Last night, while I was organizing a training for our team, Olivia covered her entire face and hair in my husband's hair gel. I washed her hair twice and it still looks wet. This morning, when I watched a 3 minute video celebrating our team's incredible success, she covered the living room floor with water and bubbles. Later, as I made a cup of coffee, she put pink chapstick all over 2 white stuffed animals. I'm not going to lie; I lost my cool with that sweet 3-year-old who can cause the most destruction in the smallest moments of time. Lately, it feels like this moments are more common than not. I don't know if it's my own exhaustion + stress or her determination to be independent (or a combination of these things) that has led to me exploding. I hate it. I feel guilty immediately after. But, I'm learning how to make amends; hopefully, she is learning that even mama makes mistakes and that I am modelling behaviours for after you screw up. So, let's talk what to do after you lose your temper with your kids. Being a work-from-home mama with kids definitely isn't easy ... especially during summer break. Meeting deadlines + keeping the kids entertained can equal a crazy amount of stress; so, here are some productivity tips to help you get the most done while making sure your kids aren't destroying your house or watching TV for 12 hours a day.
