Burnt out. Exhausted. Ready for a beach vacation or a break-down or, maybe, both. Look, mama, I've been there. I get it. I've done the 1am googling of "is it normal for my newborn to ______." I've struggled through some days with only YouTube Kids as my sanity-saver, so I could sit in the bathroom for 5 minutes in silence. I've watched the clock and wished the day away ... and then beat myself up for it.

So, if you're at the end of your rope and feeling the need for some inspiration, I want to share with you some of the books I've loved to lift my spirits, challenge my mindset, and offer hope on the hardest mama days. Hit up your local library or consider downloading and listening from Audible (then, you can listen while you drive, do laundry, or try not to lose your shit).
Girl, Wash Your Face, by Rachel Hollis, is one of the best books I've listened to in a long time (I seriously could not turn it off). Every chapter of this book details a lie that Rachel herself believed and that many women hold to be true about themselves... and then she breaks down these untruths with specific, tangible advice that anyone can apply. She shares true life experiences with the utmost vulnerability, while empowering the reader/listener to take control of their life and become who they are truly meant to be. My favourite chapters in this book were all about motherhood!
Only Love Today: Reminders to Breathe More, Stress Less, and Choose Love, by Rachel Macy Stafford, is one of those books that can leave you forever changed in just a page. Stafford is known as the Hands Free Mama and her mission is all about letting go of distraction, perfection, and pressure so that moms can grasp the things that really matter (hint: they aren't actually things). This book is broken down into short, poignant, and poetic reflections and reminders about how we can worry a little bit less and love a little bit more.
UnPerfect: The Busy Mom's Guide to Seeking Purpose over Perfection, by Deanna Pecina and Erika Akingboye, is all about saying no to the wrong things so that we can spend more time on the things that truly matter. The book is filled with realistic strategies to help you become the mom who embraces imperfection, takes confident action, and finds joy in working on your purpose every single day.
What books do you recommend every mama should read?

The Whole Brain Child
A wonderful and enlightening book about how the brain works and how to raise a child who uses their whole brain in every day life and to work through big emotions. It was insightful for me as an adult also.
