I received a negative message about my writing and my work yesterday, anonymously. Here is what I know.

It's easy to focus on the 1 person who doesn't like you, even with hundreds of people who love you and what you do.
It's not hard to obsess over 1 negative comment, despite an abundance of positive feedback.
We get caught up in trying to please everyone... but in doing so, we can't really reach anyone, let alone make ourselves happy.

So, just do you.

Those who matter won't mind, and those who mind don't matter.

It stung, this negativity, for a moment. But nothing could stop me from being the person she needs me to be
