At the end of 2017, I decided to go ALL IN on my blog. I have always loved writing and creating content is my favourite part of having an online business ... so, it kind of just made sense, ya know? I've been a work-from-home-mama since my daughter was born and I realized that my blog was a totally under-utilized tool with some crazy awesome potential.

On November 5th, I purchased Melyssa Griffin's course, Pinfinite Growth. Melyssa Griffin is an inspiring online educator, who teaches online entrepreneurs and bloggers how to turn their passion into profit (sign me up, right?). I began implementing her strategies almost immediately, overhauling my Pinterest account and adjusting the way I wrote on my blog.

Oh, and actually writing on it - you'll notice from the archives some gaping holes that I will affectionally refer to from now on as The Lost Months. Consistency has been key and I'm excited to share some of the things I've learned and how it's changed the impact my blog has had.

(Yeah, bloggers write Income Reports and someday I'll get there because I'm a big fan of transparency, but considering I made about $30 from my blog, we'll wait until I'm actually monetizing, shall we?)

Ok, let me show you the numbers and then I will share with you some of the strategies I used to increase my daily website views over 500%. Now, remember, I invested in Pinfinite Growth at the beginning of November, so let's take a look at the past 2 months.

This graph from Pinterest demonstrates the growth in people who see my Pins and people who act on my pins. That climbing line just makes me so freakin' happy, y'all, I'm not going to lie. My average monthly viewers have grown over 46,000% and engagement is up almost 14,000%.

So, what does this look like day-to-day?

Well, the analytics on Pinterest show that my average daily saves and daily people saving is up 1,800%. While 14 daily saves doesn't seem like a lot yet, it's definitely some huge growth!

Now, these are the stats from my website (I use Weebly - I know most bloggers prefer Wordpress, but I've been using Weebly since my education days and I love it too much to leave it. You can find out more about the platform here).

The continued growth in my blog is clear; obviously, some days have huge spikes in traffic, thanks to well-performing pins, but the growth is mostly up!

So, How Did I Make This Growth HAppen?

Here are the top 5 strategies I have used to grow my blog!
  • Pinfinite Growth. Yes, you probably could spend months and months researching everything included in this course. But why would you?! I cannot recommend this course enough. If you've got a blog, you need to learn Pinterest; it is a search engine that will help you to drive traffic to your site.

  • Join Facebook groups for blogs. My favourite group is Bloggers Unite on Pinterest. Every day, you can share a pin and others will re-pin it! In return, you re-pin for others who post in the thread. This strategy has helped me drive traffic like crazy.

  • Tailwind Scheduling. Every week, I sit down and schedule my pins for the week. I still jump onto Pinterest for about 5 minutes a day to manually pin, but Tailwind has allowed me to save time AND it allows you to schedule pins for the ideal time of day based on your audience and history. Tailwind also has a feature called Tribes, which allow you to share pins with people in the same niche as you. (Oh, and while I haven't utilized it, they also have a service for Instagram!) You can sign up (and receive $15) with my friends link!

  • Share valuable content. Ok, I feel a little silly writing this ... but if you want to grow a money-making blog, sharing value has to be at the centre of your strategy. A business blog is not for writing that is boring, self-centered, or unhelpful for the reader. Look at your blog posts from an outsider perspective and determine whether you are really offering value to your audience.

  • Become a lifelong learner. You must be willing to read, to research, to grow - in what you know about blogging, in what you know about the topic(s) you write about, and in what you know about yourself. I preach personal development pretty regularly and I'm not about to stop now!
