5 Things to Outsource as a Busy Mama

12/18/2017

Outsourcing - what the heck is it? Basically, outsourcing is a business practice used by companies to improve efficiency by shifting tasks, operations, jobs, or processes to an external contracted third party for a significant amount of time.

Now, I am a huge promoter of delegating tasks when it comes to motherhood (you can do it all, but that doesn't mean you have to, mama!). So, here are 5 tasks that you can outsource to increase your efficiency and, honestly, just enjoy your life more.

1. Grocery Shopping

With more and more stores offering services where you can order your groceries online and arrange a pick-up-time, I don't know why any mom risks toddler tantrums in the checkout over candy you don't want to buy. Walmart now offers free pick-up on orders over $50 and, to be fair, I would totally pay for this service.

You save time. You save money by avoiding impulse purchases. You save your sanity.

2. House-Cleaning

Having someone come into your home and do a deep clean every 2 weeks or monthly? It is a luxury that more women should invest in (and it actually costs less than you might imagine). You'll stress less when your child is licking the light switches when you know someone else has cleaned the spots you don't always think of.

3. Poop Pick-Up

Ok, this one's just for mom's with dogs. Hiring someone to come pick up the dog poop in our backyard once a week is my favourite chore to have delegated to someone else (especially when it's really hot - stinky - or really cold - brrrrr!)

4. Bulk Meal Prep

Bulk meal prep is something I outsourced... to myself. Instead of stressing out every night about what to feed our family for dinner, I created a plan every week and I also prep freezer meals that can easily be dumped into the crockpot on especially hectic nights.

If you hate prepping, look at outsourcing this task completely with companies like The Chefs Plate or Hello Fresh, which provide the recipe and ingredients so all you have to do is cook.

5. Shopping

Every year, my husband braves the malls way too close to Christmas. And me? I've got my own personal shopper ... Amazon. With almost everything available to order online (including supporting small, local businesses!), no mama needs to waste her time in crowded malls trying to find the perfect gift.

What do you outsource from your daily life? What do you wish you could outsource?
